Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)

Introduction
A VLE or virtual learning environment is a web based application that allows you to create course structures to deliver resources to students. Learner engagement activity such as communication and collaboration are facilitated through tool such forums, wiki's RSS feeds and blogs; while knowledge acquisition can be monitored through assessment tools, e.g. assignments, quizzes and games. Extending the VLE to integrate with other data management systems is called a managed learning environment (MLE). Other generic names exist, e.g. learning platform or learning management system (LMS).
