What is web 2.0? (Kevin Brace)

Session aims: This session will cover an overview & hands on of some of the more popualr Web 2.0 tools (blogs, wikis, social bookmarking), and how these can be used to support learning and skills development. Delegates will require web access to their email account during the session in order to set up a Web 2.0 tool.

Access a (web based) mind map covering some of the most popular and useful web technologies to enhance teaching and learning from Kevins blog page. All Web 2.0 resources discussed in this session are contained within a shared mind map online.

Using Video and images in E-learning (Theresa Welch)


This session aims to show you how to make use of video and images in teaching. Using digital cameras, flip video cameras and some free software we will create resources that are engaging for learners and fun to make.

Whiteboards and Voting Systems: (Allen Crawford Thomas, Teaching and Learning Advisor)

This session will explore how you can use the interactive whiteboard to generated improved engagement and participation. This will include how to the use tools and functions, change backgrounds and paper type; integrate other applications and media. The session will also include a brief introduction to voting systems.
