Presenters & programme

A day of facilitated active discussion informed by local practioners who are using eportoflios to great effect.

1) we have Derrin Kent from The Development Manager Ltd (an UK official Mahara Partner) talking about Open Source developments and the Open ethos + perceived needs and barriers to effective eportfolio uptake.

2) Kirstie Coolin will talk about the massively successful LLN East Mid’s LEAP AHEAD project. Kirstie & her team have given out 900 eportfolio licences to pilot & try two tools over the past year or two.

3) Alison Price will talk about her use of Webquest and eportfolio tools with trainee teachers from Telford’s TCAT College. She will be joined by Theresa Loughlin to talk about their latest eportfolio developments at Telford. Who incidentally never deployed a commercial VLE. So their College wide eportfolio adoption is quite unique.

4) Pritpal Sembi from The University of Wolverhampton will avail us of a tale of moving from an initially negative view of eportfolios to a very positive uptake of the blogging tool he deployed with his placement students. Unintended and positive outcomes abound in Pritpal’s journey of discovery.
