Disabilities

Introduction
Whilst it is possible to gain a broad understanding of the issues affecting disabled learners, disability is a complex phenomenon with social, medical and personality dimensions.
Each disabled person is an individual, so what works for one learner in a case study may not work for a learner in your setting. Two learners with identical medical conditions can have very different abilities and needs.
Situations and abilities change, so an appropriate intervention at one stage may be less appropriate at a later stage. Learners may need more (or less) support at different stages of their course.
