After welcome and introductions, Alastair Clark, NIACE Programme Manager joined the group (via Skype) to about some of the issues being highlighted at the forthcoming Learning in a Digital World conference on 4 November.

3. Innovative ways of delivering through technology

4. Being ready for the next wave of technological changes

The round the table discussions included the following:

1. Virtual Learning Environments: (a) Sharing good practice. (b)Sharing problems.

2. Encryption problems: laptops, USB sticks, how do you overcome these issues? (deep freeze, thaw etc)

3. E-Safety Policies – have you got one? Do you come under the corporate policy or have your own?

4. Green IT: Floating on the Cloud – can you use it?

5. Wireless connectivity in the sticks

6. Social media – do you use Twitter or Facebook? Does your organisation ban it?
